About the artist

+
Josie Blue Molloy is a printmaker and educator based in London who recently completed the second year of a prestigious Printmaking Fellowship at the Royal Academy. She works as a printmaking technician at London College of Communication and runs a portable screen printing studio, Screengrab.

Fuelled by a love of colour, form and architecture, Josie’s screenprints combine bold block colours, textural elements and fluid marks to create work that’s energetic and playful. Her inspiration comes from the artists Ben Nicholson, Robert Rauschenberg and Anni Albers, and movements such as the Bauhaus and Brutalism.

Josie is currently delving into the world of textile printing, using materials that are transparent to play with light and shadow. Her work has recently been featured in the Guardian Style magazine as well as numerous design blogs and galleries.
