About the artist


Miranda Carter lives on the edge of the Cotswolds and has established herself as an exciting British artist to watch with her work being exhibited widely throughout the UK.
 
She draws inspiration for her paintings from the physical experience of nature and the elements, visualising her emotional response. She explores the feeling of being ‘earthed’, connecting to the landscape by immersing herself in the natural world in a very present way. She walks and swims in all weathers, taking her experiences back to the studio.

In Miranda's words: “I aim to recreate the feeling you experience when encountering something bigger than yourself.” The paintings themselves evolve through the creative journey. A combination of drawing and painting, mixing bold marks with fine lines, exploring the way pressure, mood and medium affects them.
