How to care for your artwork

Unwrapping your artwork

Please follow these simple art care steps carefully to ensure your artwork reaches your wall in mint condition.
  • Check the packaging for any scuffs, punctures or other damage. Make a note of any found and please photograph it. Do not sign for your package until you confirm it has reached you in perfect condition.
  • Carefully unwrap the artwork, on a clean, solid table, which is clear of all other materials and liquids, and check again. If you find any damage, which is not discovered at the point of signing confirmation of receipt, this damage must be reported to Modern ArtBuyer on info@modernartbuyer.com within five days of receipt. Please photograph it and make a written, dated description. Many thanks for your co-operation.

Looking after your artwork

Clean the glazing with anti-static fluid, sprayed onto the cloth rather than directly onto the glass to avoid any liquid seeping in between the glass and the frame. Microfibre cloths are ideal for glass cleaning. If you are transferring the artwork into temporary storage, we recommend rewrapping the artwork in its original packaging.Try to avoid hanging works on paper either in direct sunlight or under spotlights. Also try to avoid damp or humid areas such as bathrooms. It is a good idea to rotate your collection around your home every six months to reduce the chance of light damage and to appreciate your collection in a slightly different setting.

Finally and most importantly

Hang your work with pride and enjoy it every day!
