About the Artist

Jo de Pear is a professional print maker. She studied for her BA at Edinburgh College of Art and her MA in Printmaking at Chelsea, London. She uses all of the varied printmaking disciplines, often combining two or three to create her semi-abstracted images. She lives and works in London.

The images in her prints, such as 'Portrait' and 'Button Hooks and Brushes', examine the notions of memory and loss through an exploration of the relationship between intimate objects. This work juxtaposes the familiar souvenirs we become tied to in order to represent the personality that is imprinted on them.

Jo de Pear's work has been bought by private collectors as well as through commissions for Government and city offices, and large corporations including British Airways. Jo has exhibited widely showing work at the Bargehouse Gallery, the Coningsby Gallery, the Mernier Chocolate Factory, the Oxo Tower, Artichoke Open Studio Brixton, Glasgow Print Studio, the National Gallery Edinburgh, the Barbican, and ‘Originals’ at the Mall Galleries. Jo’s work has also shown at Affordable Art Fairs in New York, Paris, London and Bristol.
